Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco, California, on February 24, 1955. He was given up for adoption by Joanne Schieble and Abdulfattah Jandali, two University of Wisconsin graduate students. He was adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs. His adoptive father was the one who showed him how to take apart and reconstruct electronics. While Jobs was enrolled at Homestead High School, he met his future partner Steve Wozniak. After high school, Jobs enrolled at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. After six months he dropped out but the next eighteen months he dropped in on creative classes at the school. In 2003, Jobs discovered that he had a tumor, a rare form of pancreatic cancer. Jobs didn't immediately get surgery to remove the tumor, instead he chose to look at Eastern treatment options. In 2004, he successfully had the pancreatic tumor removed.

It is known that Jobs had a daughter with his girlfriend at the time Chrisann Brennan when he was 23. He denied that she was his until she was 7, when she was teenager she chose to live with him. In the 1990s, Jobs met Laurene Poweel at Standford business school. They got married on March 18, 1991. They lived in Palo Alto, California, with their three children.
At age 56, Steve Jobs passed away on October 5, 2011. He died in Palo Alto after battling pancreatic cancer for nearly a decade. |
